At Eradica Pest Control we offer a quick, efficient service for the removal of squirrels. We do not use live catch traps as we are prohibited by law from relocating them back into the environment. 

This would also upset the status quo, as the squirrel would no longer be in its own territory and its release would impact on other resident squirrels. It is therefore our policy to use kill traps, as this is the most humane way of destroying the animal.

Once we have identified your problem, traps would be laid in the affected areas, which would need to be inspected every day, so it is important that we are able to gain access as the whole process can take several days. 

We charge per job and not per visit, so you can be assured that we would attend until the problem was resolved, at no extra charge.

On many occasions some repair work or proofing of entry points would be necessary to prevent further incursion. We would discuss this with you and offer a price, should you wish us to carry this out.

DO I HAVE MICE?

 Indoor areas popular with mice tend to be those used for food storage and preparation, and enclosed spaces such as bathroom airing cupboards and boxed-in pipework. Being so small, mice can easily get into the structure of buildings without you even knowing, and because of this they can be under floorboards or behind walls for a considerable while before you realise.

During this time the population of mice can increase at an alarming rate, and by the time evidence is found, there is often a well-established colony to deal with.

Often people buy mouse traps, but soon realise that they are not dealing with just one mouse.

Soon the mice learn the danger of the traps and avoid them, so you will only catch a small percentage of the population using this method.​

So how do I know that I have mice? As with rats, answering yes to the questions on the left will give you pointers to what might be the source of your problem.

Squirrels may well have gained access to your roof space.

If there are young in the nest, the mother is likely to be very aggressive. Don`t ever underestimate a female squirrel with young.... she will attack and she`s fast!! You will not be able to get away quickly enough!!

Fortunately, squirrels do not tend to populate  roof voids all year round, but do return year after year to have their young. This is usually around April. Sometimes they can reappear towards the end of the summer for a period of time.

So. if you are hearing noises in your roof during April, be mindful..... it may be squirrels.

So how do I know that I have rats?

  • Have you seen one or more? Clearly, seeing a rat is the most obvious sign. It probably isn`t just passing through, but has likely set up residence nearby! Perhaps you have a shed in the garden, decking, a bird table with food and water, maybe a pond??
  • Is there a strong, sharp smell around the suspected area of infestation?
  • Have you seen unidentified droppings?
  • Is there damage to your property? Perhaps      chewed doors, furniture, cables?
  • Have you heard squeaking, scratching, scrabbling or gnawing noises from the suspect area?
  • Does your dog or cat keep sniffing in the same area, showing far more interest than usual?
  • Have you found shredded pieces of material/paper/plastic, often used by rodents for nesting, in out of the way places?                                                  











  • If indoors, have you found holes chewed out of the fabric around pipes? If outside, have you found burrow holes under the shed or beneath your wooden decking?

Beware of pest control companies who charge per visit as it is very easy to end up with a huge bill if the problem pest is difficult to control.​​​


Normally, we would attend the same day as your call to us or at a convenient time to suit you.

On the first visit we would carry out a survey of your home or business premises to ascertain the location and the extent of the problem and then, depending on the scenario, lay traps or rodenticide as an initial treatment.

We would supply you with a treatment report, outlining what we have done, the chemicals used if applicable, and any other health and safety data.

Then we would make a follow-up visit when the bait or traps would be inspected, and any bait boxes refilled if necessary.

Treating for rats generally takes 2-3 visits, but we will attend for as long as is necessary to eradicate them.

On many occasions some repair work or proofing of rodent entry points will be necessary to prevent future problems.

During the treatment process we would discuss what preventative work needs to be done and we can offer a price should you wish us to complete the work.

Once everything was completed to your satisfaction, we would leave the area neat and tidy.

All traps, bait and bodies would be removed and we would leave you a final treatment report, outlining any advice to prevent a re-occurence in the future.
