PESTS CAN NOT ONLY DAMAGE YOUR BUSINESS REPUTATION BY THEIR PRESENCE , BUT CAN ALSO CAUSE A PUBLIC HEALTH INCIDENT.
Cockroaches - It is imperative that all food is kept away from the infestation area as cockroaches are vectors of salmonella and listeria, present in their faeces.
Rodents - Rats and mice eat most foodstuffs, whether raw, cooked or rotting.
Rats in particular eat excrement and rubbish and both are urine incontinent. They are vectors of serious human diseases such as gastro-enteritis, Weil`s and dysentry.
Pharaoh`s Ants - It is imperative that food is kept away from the infestation as pharaoh`s ant treatments rely on the ants consuming stomach poisons within a food source. These ants are extremely difficult to bring under control. When attacked they form satellite groups to preserve the colony, so any attempt to treat them with aerosol-based insecticides by well -meaning staff will only exacerbate the problem and lengthen the time it takes to eradicate the colony.
Legislation to make displaying Scores On The Doors ratings mandatory for all businesses in England serving or selling food is set to come into force by the end of 2019. This will allow customers to make an informed decision whether to eat at or purchase food from these premises. In Wales and Northern Ireland it is already mandatory for food premises to display their ratings in a prominent position at the front of the building, whatever their score.
Understandably, this has an effect on how the business is run and the standards by which it operates. At Eradica Pest Control we are qualified under the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health in food handling and hygiene, so we are in the advantageous position to be able to discuss and advise our customers on these important kitchen issues.
This service is all part of the package included in our annual pest control contracts.
We can offer advice on all pest and kitchen hygiene issues and implement a pest management programme.
Do you need an electric fly killer installed and serviced or perhaps fly screens fitted to the kitchen windows?
Eradica Pest Control can provide these and other specialist services which can be included within a contract.
Here at Eradica Pest Control we are able to offer a variety of services to business customers.
We can provide you with one-off treatments or long term contracts, according to your requirements and your budget.
We have three levels of contract and all can be tailored to meet your needs, and we also include add-ons such as free emergency call-out services.
If you are in the food and drinks industry you may be interested in taking advantage of our help regarding the Scores On The Doors system of hygiene appraisal, the corner stone of the Environmental Health Department.
YOUR BUSINESS REPUTATION CAN BE RUINED BY PESTS
SPECIES WE DEAL WITH INCLUDE :
In line with the new Stewardship Regime to control the over- use of rodenticides, we fully support the practice of pesticide-free outdoor monitoring techniques and believe that it is better for the environment and for wildlife.
Owls can catch and eat small rodents that have been poisoned, and hedgehogs can eat slugs that are partial to eating bait.
Therefore, within our contracts, we always use non-toxic bait for outdoor monitoring and regular visits to assess rodent activity.
Should rats or mice be detected, we then put down toxic bait for the minimum time it takes to eradicate the problem, and then return to using wildlife-safe monitoring bait.
Aimed primarily for businesses serving food, within our Gold Service Contract we believe that monthly monitoring results in less pest problems, as colonies and rodent communities do not have time to multiply significantly in between visits, where they can cause serious pest issues and potentially a long term problem which can be more difficult to eradicate.
Visiting monthly also means that our clients can be safe in the knowledge that their premises are being checked regularly.
However, all levels of contracts, Gold, Silver and Bronze, are available and we will work with you, the client, to achieve the right balance for your requirements.
We offer three levels of contract:
GOLD - 12 scheduled monthly visits per annum plus UNLIMITED call-outs for contract pests.
SILVER - 8 scheduled visits per annum with FOUR free call-outs for contract pests.
BRONZE- 6 scheduled visits per annum with no free call-outs. However, within this contract, call-out charges for contract pests will be discounted by 25%.
This basic level of contract is not recommended for food premises where more frequent routine visits are necessary to insure against pest ingress.
We can carry out post-treatment proofing to ensure rodents do not get access again.
Our professional bird team use netting, spikes and the latest techniques of invisible cables and optical gels to deter birds from their roosting sites.
A service often used by our letting agencies between lets, we can carry out a thorough clean and follow it with a flea treatment if previously there have been cats or dogs in the property.
We also provide a deep cleansing service, available as a one-off treatment or as part of an annual contract.
Whether you have a problem with moles, rabbits, foxes or deer, we can talk through your particular situation and find an effective solution.
For businesses, pest invasion can have further, long-term implications, such as the possibility of damaged reputations, poor Scores On The Doors ratings, loss of business, even prosecution, resulting from pest ingress and other hygiene issues.
We can advise you on any pest or kitchen hygiene problem and provide you with a range of pest control and prevention measures, from one-off treatments to long term contracts, to keep your business pest free and in line with Environmental Health requirements.
Once you have requested a free survey, we will visit your premises, identify the possible problem areas and build a business profile, so that we can put together a programme of pest prevention tailored to your particular requirements. We will offer a price based on one of our 3 levels of service contract.
If you already have a pest problem, we will identify it, assess the level of infestation, work swiftly to eradicate it and then begin scheduled visiting.
We supply you with a folder to keep on the premises containing risk assessments, material safety data sheets, treatment reports/visit records and other associated paperwork which can be made available to the Environmental Health Officer on his/her visits .
These scheduled visit reports are important to the EHO as they prove that the business is actually working to ensure no pest ingress, rather than only dealing with a problem as and when it arises.
We can help you retain a high rating or improve a low one by providing year-round pest control and we can help you address issues highlighted by audits, whether pest, kitchen hygiene or food storage related.
